TSCA Reform: TIA to Host Webinar on New Legislation
June 6, 2016 | With reform of the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) approved by the House of Representatives on May 24th and the Senate expected to approve the bill later this week, the Toy Industry Association (TIA) will host a webinar to help industry stakeholders understand how TSCA reform will affect their companies’ chemical use management programs.
Registration is now open for “TSCA Reform’s Impact on Toy Companies,” which will take place on Thursday, June 16th from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. (Eastern). The session will be presented by Michael Walls, vice president of regulatory and technical affairs of the American Chemistry Council, and Martha E. Marrapese, partner at Keller and Heckman LLP. The session will be moderated by Autumn Moore, TIA manager of standards and regulatory affairs.
“TIA staff and many of its member company representatives and Board members have lobbied for this meaningful update to the 40-year-old law in the hopes of creating a strong national standard for chemical regulations,” said Ed Desmond, TIA executive director of external affairs. “The June 16 webinar is a great opportunity for industry members, including quality control professionals, compliance officers, chemical program managers and others to assess TSCA’s impact on a state's ability to regulate chemicals going forward.”
The webinar is free for TIA members and $49 for non-members.
Questions about this session may be directed to TIA’s Autumn Moore. Non-members interested in purchasing the webinar recording should contact webinars@toyassociation.org.
