Call for Auction Items to Support “Party with a Purpose” Fundraiser for Children’s Hospitals

July 29, 2024 | The Toy Foundation’s (TTF) “Party with a Purpose,” which kicks off LA Fall Preview market week on September 9, is the industry’s can’t-miss night of fun and philanthropy featuring an exclusive performance from legendary rock band Blues Traveler; networking opportunities with key industry leaders; delicious food and drink; a one-of-a-kind auction; and more!

The curated online auction will be filled with unique items, collectibles, and experiences for event guests and toy enthusiasts everywhere to bid on their favorite items. The auction will be open throughout the market week (Sept. 9-13), with all proceeds benefiting a great cause delivering play to children’s hospitals.

TTF is calling on the industry for stand-out auction items, which can include limited-edition toys, autographed memorabilia, VIP theme park experiences, or a day of creativity with a toy designer. To pledge an item, contact TTF staff.

“The NYC auction was crazy fun, and I can’t wait to see what is available for bidding this fall,” said Aaron Muderick, founder and executive chairman at Crazy Aaron’s. “One item that will be in the auction is a trip to Crazy Aaron’s HQ! Come hang with me, tour our facilities, design and make your own putty in my personal laboratory, and go on a shopping spree in our flagship store. It’s an incredibly experience that helps support The Toy Foundation’s work in children’s hospitals.”

All auction donations will directly support TTF’s Children’s Hospital Play Grants program, which funds play therapy programs at children’s hospitals serving predominantly economically disadvantaged communities. Play is a proven tool to improve pediatric care, and by the end of the year, 500,000 children and families will have experienced the healing power of play through funding from the Play Grants program.

“Party with a Purpose” is an opportunity for the toy industry to join together and help improve pediatric care nationwide. From donating items and placing bids to purchasing event tickets or serving as a sponsor, there are multiple opportunities to support this important cause.

The Toy Association’s LA Fall Preview is taking place throughout the month of September at 2250 East Imperial Highway in El Segundo. “Party with a Purpose” will kick off the LA Fall Preview dedicated market week, taking place September 9 to 13. The entire toy community is also invited to The Toy Association’s complimentary Industry Networking Party, sponsored by Circana (Platinum Sponsor), at Otis College of Art and Design on Tuesday, September 10 and WiT’s Wonder Women Awards at the Beverly Hilton on Friday, September 13.
