CPSC logoJuly 19, 2024 | The U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce will hold a hearing on Tuesday, July 23 at 2 p.m. titled “The Fiscal Year 2025 Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Budget.” Toy Association staff will tune into the hearing and will monitor developments on behalf of the industry.

During the hearing, each CPSC commissioner — including Chair Alexander Hoehn-Saric, Peter Feldman, Richard Trumka Jr., Mary Boyle, and Douglas Dziak — will answer questions about prior and current decisions the agency has made, in addition to discussing priorities for the coming fiscal year. The CPSC's budget allocations can indicate the areas where the commission will focus its efforts, which may have an impact on product regulations, marketing strategies, and overall business operations.

The official written testimony from the CPSC Commissioners is available here ahead of the hearing, which is open to the public and will be live streamed online. More information is available here.

Members may contact Owen Caine, vice president of government affairs at The Toy Association, with any questions.
