How Companies Can Support Toy Safety Awareness Month

toy safety awareness month logoOctober 25, 2024 | Ahead of the fourth annual Toy Safety Awareness Month, which kicks off Friday, November 1, The Toy Association™ is encouraging toy manufacturers and retailers to get involved throughout the month by offering parents and caregivers reliable information on safe toy shopping, appropriate toy selection, and safe play at home. The initiative invites everyone in the play industry to share helpful safety tips with consumers on their social media channels, websites, and in stores.

Everyone in the toy community is invited to consult the Toy Safety Awareness Month toolkit, which includes sample social media posts and related assets, including the official logo, an infographic, video assets, and more. Manufacturers, retailers, and industry professionals are invited to take part by sharing The Toy Association’s safety content throughout November and using the official hashtags — #ToySafetyAwarenessMonth and #PlaySafe — in their posts. Please reach out to Kristin Morency Goldman, senior director of strategic communications, to request toolkit access.

“As gift-givers begin to check off their holiday shopping lists, it’s a perfect opportunity to remind families of some simple, yet effective, tips for safe play, such as only buying toys from trusted retailers and brands, and following age recommendations on products,” said Adrienne Appell, executive vice president of marketing communications at The Toy Association. “We invite the play community to help us spread the word about Toy Safety Awareness Month to help consumers make informed choices.”

Toy Safety Awareness Month will continue through the end of November. Be sure to follow the latest updates on LinkedIn and Facebook.
