ICPHSO to Hold Southeast Regional Product Safety Training Workshop

May 5, 2016 | On June 2nd, the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO) will host its Southeast Regional Product Training Workshop at The Home Depot corporate facility in Atlanta, Georgia. The event is open to all product safety professionals – including regulators, retailers, and manufacturers. “Preparing For The Products of Tomorrow” builds upon the theme from ICPHSO’s Annual Symposium in February, “The Challenge of Change: Collaborating Today for a Safer Tomorrow.”

“Attendees will be able to engage directly with other product safety professionals. We plan to explore the challenges product safety faces with emerging technology, new and innovative products and the best practices developed for managing outcomes,” said Alan Kaufman, Toy Industry Association (TIA) SVP of technical affairs and immediate past president of ICPHSO.

The keynote address will be delivered by Elliot Kaye, Chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Case studies and panels will be moderated by product safety and legal professionals covering the following topics:

  • The theory and practice of bringing a new product or product class to market
  • How to ensure safety beyond compliance by managing supply chain risks, conducting hazard analysis and using analytics to detect emerging issues
  • Weaving safety into product design
  • The key points of initiating an effective training program
  • Exploring the full spectrum of internal compliance programs

A pre-event networking reception is planned for the evening of June 1st in the lobby of La Quinta Inns & Suites at 2415 Paces Ferry Road Southeast, Atlanta, GA from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Registration for the workshop may be completed online.
