Jennifer Richmond, Beloved Licensing and Toy Industry Veteran, Passes Away at 49
September 14, 2017 | The Toy Association and its members mourn the passing of Jennifer Richmond, a 23-year veteran of the licensing and toy industries, who died on September 12 after battling cancer. Richmond, 49, was managing director of Richmond Management Group – a strategic consulting, brand acquisition, and management firm for the licensing and marketing industries.
Prior to consulting, Richmond spent 12 years at Jakks Pacific. Her most recent role there was senior vice president, licensing and media. Richmond was responsible for securing top licenses for Jakks and its subsidiaries globally. She also oversaw the company’s global media strategy and planning, and secured partnerships with hundreds of nationally and internationally known celebrities, and television, movie, and entertainment properties, including Disney, Nickelodeon, Marvel, and Warner Brothers. Prior to Jakks Pacific, Richmond held positions in marketing and brand management at Equity Marketing, Empire Toys, and Tyco Toys.
Richmond won a Women in Toys, Licensing, & Entertainment (WIT) Wonder Woman award for Licensing in 2012. She also sat on the board of directors for the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers Association (LIMA) from 2011 to 2014.
“Jen touched so many through her caring nature, eternal positivity, and the deep and meaningful relationships she had with so many, both personally and professionally; the most treasured with her husband Andy, her extraordinary daughter, Bianca, who was truly the light of her life, and their adored family of animals. We hold her memory near and dear in our hearts,” WIT posted on its Facebook page.
Richmond is survived by her husband, Andrew, and daughter, Bianca.
