Looking for Fresh Ideas? Toy Association Members Invited to Otis Toy Design Exhibition this May
April 16, 2019 | Toy Association members looking for fresh talent and ideas are invited to attend an upcoming exhibition created by the 2019 toy design graduating class at Otis College of Art and Design. The free event, taking place on Friday, May 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. (Pacific) at the college’s Los Angeles campus, features 20 graduates who will showcase their designs in individual showroom settings and welcome the opportunity to meet with toy industry professionals.
Otis College of Art and Design’s toy design department is a four-year fully accredited bachelor degree major in toy design. Established in 1997, the department’s alumni have designed award-winning toys and children’s entertainment-related products. The school’s proximity to leading global toy and entertainment companies has given students access to influential industry professionals who are faculty, mentors, and guest lecturers. The students have also had a wide variety of design experience through internships at major toy companies worldwide.
The Toy Association is a proud supporter of the toy design department at Otis College of Art and Design. Grants funded by The Toy Association support scholarships for students and other curricular enhancements, including innovative tools, design techniques, and resources on toy safety, manufacturing, and marketing, among other topics. In addition, The Toy Association offers Otis’ toy design students complimentary memberships so that they may take advantage of industry networking and other professional development opportunities.
