Toy Association Hosts Members & Friends at 3rd Annual Happy Hour; Promotes Trends at Sweet Suite
July 24, 2019 | Nearly 150 toy company members and industry professionals gathered at The Toy Association’s New York City headquarters to network and celebrate play. Appetizers and cocktails were served as guests enjoyed lively conversation throughout the evening.
“Our ongoing work to protect and promote the toy and play community includes kicking back and having fun with our members,” said Steve Pasierb, president and CEO of The Toy Association. “We're thankful for the outpouring of attendance at our annual event, and a fantastic evening where our team was able to connect with members, toy press, retailers, and so many others who make bringing joy to kids a great business.”
Added Pasierb: “Beyond our many events, trade shows, and global advocacy work, Association staff are always available to help you make sure your business is successful while our offices in New York City and Washington, DC should be viewed as a home bases for our members."
Trend Promotion at Sweet Suite
The Happy Hour was held the night before The Toy Insider’s Sweet Suite event, an annual event that brought together hundreds of online influencers and families, press, and industry.
To continue promoting the 2019 top toy trends, The Toy Association created special cards for the Sweet Suite event to correlate companies’ products with the trends – Unboxing 2.0, Compound Crazy, Throwback Toys, Foodie Fun, Inspirational & Aspirational Play, and Explosive Entertainment. Exhibiting companies submitted nearly 350 products for review to The Toy Association’s trend team and toys that fit in with the top trends were given recognition.
“The Toy Association continues to come up with innovative ways to promote members’ products,” said Adrienne Appell, senior director of strategic communications at The Toy Association. “Our trend spotting and signage provides value to companies at media and influencer events by providing third-party validation that they are ‘on trend’ with what’s hot in the marketplace.”
