Mark Your Calendars: CPSC Commissioner to Keynote Toy Safety & Compliance Update at Toy Fair

January 31, 2020 | Looking for the latest information on toy safety and the industry’s top state, federal, and international legislative and regulatory priorities? Be sure to attend The Toy Association’s annual Toy Safety & Compliance Update on Monday, February 24 at Toy Fair New York.

This year’s seminar will kick off with a keynote address from Dana Baiocco, commissioner at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The Toy Association will also award the first-ever recipient of its Advocate of the Year Award. The free seminar will be held 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 1E09 (Hall 1E) at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The remainder of the session will provide manufacturers, retailers, toy inventors, testing labs, and others within the toy industry with news and developments related to toy safety laws and regulations in the U.S. and abroad. The presentation will be delivered by Toy Association staff and CPSC officials, who will provide updates on:

  • CPSC age determination guidelines

  • Privacy concerns and connected products

  • State chemical laws

  • Intellectual property protection

  • International safety regulations and trade issues impacting toys

  • 2020 state legislative and regulatory activity
