Pitch Urban Outfitters Buyers; Apply by Nov. 22 for Product Preview
Products Sought Across 23 Categories, Including Those from Minority-Owned Businesses
November 16, 2020 | On December 17, The Toy Association will host a virtual product preview day to offer selected toy suppliers the opportunity to present their toys and games to the Urban Outfitters buying team. Toy companies not currently selling to Urban Outfitters are invited to apply by Sunday, November 22 at 5 p.m. (Eastern). First priority will be given to Toy Association members.
“As the industry moves full-speed ahead into an uncertain holiday season, this opportunity marks the sixth in a series of opportunities The Toy Association has created to offer its members new avenues to grow their business through retail partnerships,” said Marian Bossard, executive vice president of global market events at The Toy Association.
Operating more than 200 stores across the U.S., Canada and Europe that focus on experiential retail environments and a curated mix of apparel, accessories and home product assortments, Urban Outfitters buyers are specifically looking to meet with a diverse range of toymakers in the following categories: DIY, outdoor, plush, seasonal holidays, sporting goods, tech toys, toys and games targeting ages 16-24, video games, and more (see complete list of categories through link).
The submission period will close November 22, at which time Urban Outfitters buyers will review all applicants. Selected companies will then be notified by The Toy Association the week of December 7 and will be required to pay a $500 fee in order to participate. Those who are selected will be invited to attend a live Zoom Q&A on December 14, which will focus on “Perfecting Your Pitch.” Preview sessions will be held via Zoom on December 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Eastern).
Previous virtual product previews have been held with buyers from Target, TRU Canada, and Meijer with additional planned with Family Dollar and Spencer’s in December.
