Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Required to Attend Toy Fair NY ‘22

September 28, 2021 | In keeping with New York City’s indoor activity guidelines and the Javits Center’s own policy requiring proof of vaccination for admission to events, Toy Fair New York ’22 will require all attendees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon entry to the show, taking place February 19 to 22, 2022.

“After nearly two years of limited travel and postponed events, we are excited to reconvene with the toy community in the heart of New York City to see the unveiling of innovative new toys, children’s playthings, and youth entertainment products; build new relationships; reconnect with old friends; and celebrate the genius of play,” said Kimberly Carcone, senior vice president of global market events at The Toy Association, producer of Toy Fair New York.

“While we are looking forward to putting on a show like never before with special keynotes, new programming, and plenty of surprises, above all else the health, safety, and security of all Toy Fair participants is our number one priority. The proof-of-vaccination requirement will help ensure that we can safely and comfortably gather. We are sharing this information well in advance to give all our guests time to plan.”

In its adherence to all state and local guidelines and CDC recommendations for masking and other safety protocols, Toy Fair New York ’22 will require face coverings to be worn to enter the Javits Center, in all public areas, and on the Toy Fair New York exhibit floor.

Upon entry to the Javits Center for Toy Fair, attendees will be required to show one of the following proofs of vaccination, along with photo ID:

*Recommended by The Toy Association. All participants are highly encouraged to download the NYC COVID Safe app and complete the Photo ID and Vaccine Verification before arriving at Toy Fair New York.

Qualified children under the age of 12 (including vetted influencers, demonstrators, and kid reporters) are permitted to attend if they are accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult. Children must also be masked in all public areas of the Javits Center and on the exhibit floor.

Additional health and safety information:

  • Now operating at 100 percent capacity, the Javits Center is among the safest venues in the country. It has received Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) accreditation, meaning the convention center will be implementing the industry’s highest standards for cleaning and disinfection of infectious agents like the coronavirus.

  • The Javits Center has installed hospital-grade High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters to improve air filtration and ventilation. The entire volume of air within the building is completely changed five times per day.

  • Many New York City hotels, restaurants, and entertainment facilities have their own COVID-19 related requirements regarding proof of vaccination. When booking your hotel for Toy Fair New York, be sure to check the requirements with the hotel of your choosing.

  • The New York Marriott Marquis, venue of the Toy of the Year Awards (TOTY) (February 18, 2022), also requires proof of vaccination (with a valid form of identification) for event attendance in accordance with New York City policy.

All health and safety requirements for Toy Fair New York are subject to change based on the most current health and safety requirements from New York authorities and the Javits Center. The Toy Association will continue to update policies and procedures and will alert all registered exhibitors and attendees of on-site requirements prior to the show.
