Toy Fair ’22 Moves Forward with Strict Safety Protocols
December 21, 2021 | The Toy Association continues to move forward with plans for Toy Fair New York, taking place February 19 through 22, 2022.
“Providing an environment for the toy and play community to come together to connect, engage, and do business safely remains the essential top priority, and from the very beginning The Toy Association has required proof of vaccine and mask wearing for every person entering Toy Fair 2022,” said Steve Pasierb, president & CEO at The Toy Association. “While we recognize that the new variant has created uncertainty and it’s an evolving situation we monitor throughout each day, those planning to attend Toy Fair should know the Javits Center is among the safest venues in the country to come together.”
The venue has received the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) accreditation for implementing the industry’s highest standards for cleaning and disinfection of infectious agents like the coronavirus and installed hospital grade High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters to improve air filtration and ventilation. In fact, the entire volume of air within the building is completely changed five times per day.
Toy Fair will also follow New York City’s indoor activity guidelines and the Javits Center’s own policy requiring proof of vaccination for admission to events.
“These standards and strict vaccine and mask requirements hold true for our team, our exhibitors, attendees, media, contractors, sponsors, friends, family − everyone without exception,” added Pasierb. “And yes, without exception includes medical, religious, and political reasons. Toy Fair’s security team will be responsible for checking identification and vaccination proof at the doors to the Javits Center from when we take possession of the building a week prior to show opening until we leave two days after the show’s close.”
Participants are encouraged to download the NYC COVID Safe app and complete the Photo ID and Vaccine Verification before arriving at Toy Fair New York to expediate the admissions process. The Toy Association will keep the community updated on the latest show developments and NYC requirements throughout the coming weeks.
