Toy Association & Industry Mourn Loss of Hasbro’s Brian Goldner

hasbro-goldnerOctober 12, 2021 | The Toy Association’s staff and board of directors, along with the entire play community, are now mourning the loss of long-time Hasbro chairman & CEO and 2019 Toy Industry Hall of Fame inductee Brian Goldner. The news comes just days following the announcement that he would be taking a medical leave of absence from his duties to focus on his health.

“Brian Goldner has made a profound and enduring imprint on every aspect of Hasbro and the business of play as we know it,” said Steve Pasierb, president & CEO of The Toy Association.  “He was a transformative leader who focused on the future, an innovative marketer, persuasive spokesperson, and tireless advocate for the toy, play, and entertainment industries. Our staff and board members like countless others across the toy and play community are holding Brian’s family close in our daily thoughts.”

In a statement, Interim CEO Rich Stoddart, said of Goldner’s passing: “Since joining the company more than two decades ago, Brian has been the heart and soul of Hasbro. As a charismatic and passionate leader in both the play and entertainment industries, Brian’s work brought joy and laughter to children and families around the world. His visionary leadership, kindness, and generosity made him beloved by the Hasbro community and everyone he touched. On behalf of the Hasbro family, we extend our deepest, heartfelt condolences to his wife, daughter, and entire family.”

Goldner served as the CEO of Hasbro since 2008 and as chairman since 2015. He was 58.
