Get 2023 Product in Front of Top-Tier Media at ‘The Play Date’

play-date-logoNovember 22, 2022 | With Toy Fair’s new fall timeline, The Toy Association and Adventure Media & Events are giving toy manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their 2023 lineups to the press and select influencers in Q1 at “The Play Date.”

Taking place March 8, 2023 at the brand new etc.venues 360 Madison Avenue in New York City, the one-day event will offer top-tier media direct access to a first look at toys coming out throughout the year displayed across two floors. The event will serve as the ultimate destination for press and influencers to get hands-on with product that is yet to hit store shelves, providing an additional level of excitement for coverage. Companies of all sizes — including Spin Master, Just Play, Playmobil, Crazy Aaron’s, Elenco, Madame Alexander, and more — have already committed to exhibiting at the event.

As a combined force, The Toy Association and Adventure Media will also give attendees access to exclusive insight and commentary regarding the state of the toy industry for the upcoming year. For media that typically reports on key trends and hot holiday product predictions, toy experts from both organizations will be on-hand for interviews related to timely issues, toy and play trends, and more.

In addition, The Toy Association will present its annual “Toy Trends Briefing” at the event, providing attendees with insight into the 2023 trends predicted to impact toys, entertainment, and play throughout the year. The Association’s team of trend specialists will detail the latest developments in play with demonstrations and product examples. Then, the conversation will reignite at Toy Fair 2023, taking place September 30 to October 3, as the global show kicks off the holiday season.

“The Toy Association and Adventure Media & Events are giving toy manufacturers a direct line to vetted, top-tier media outlets early on in the year to keep the excitement in the first quarter about all of the newness in the toy industry,” said Kimberly Carcone, executive vice president of global market events at The Toy Association. “Companies will not want to miss out on highlighting spring launches, giving first looks at summer products, and offering sneak peeks of the hottest toys of the 2023 holiday season.”

The Play Date will be a single day, invitation-only press event. Media and a very limited number of VIP influencers will be vetted under strict guidelines before they are approved to attend. The Play Date is not a retail-buyer event.
