Play Community Raises $1.8 Million to Date for Toy Foundation Relief Fund for Ukrainian Children
TTF Continues to Seek Aid in Relief Efforts
March 8, 2022 | As The Toy Foundation (TTF) continues to gather monetary and product donations to aid the millions of children and families impacted by the crisis in Ukraine, the global play community has already generated $1.8 million to date for TTF’s relief fund.
Following the relief efforts’ kickoff last week with a $1 million donation from toy industry veteran Alan Hassenfeld and the Hassenfeld Family Initiatives, the play community immediately responded by generating an additional $800,000 in monetary and product donations. One hundred percent of these donations will directly support emergency relief efforts underway in Ukraine and neighboring countries where families are seeking refuge. TTF thanks Aurora World, Basic Fun!, Bonkers Toy Co., Cra-Z-Art, Crazy Aaron’s, Hasbro, Jazwares, Melissa & Doug, Paramount, PlayMonster, and Spin Master for their generous contributions.
“We want to express our deepest thanks to the toy industry for its incredibly generous donations to The Toy Foundation in support of the millions of children and families impacted by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine,” said Andy Weiner, chair of TTF’s Board of Directors and Chief Advisor at Toy’n Around. “The toys and monetary contributions received will offer families a moment of comfort and solace as they navigate this unthinkable time. Any support you can give is greatly appreciated.”
TTF continues to accept monetary donations here, via a secure PayPal transaction using the email address ttfinfo@toyfoundation.org, or by contacting TTF’s Executive Director Pamela Mastrota or its Director of Development John Fistolera for additional information on methods of payment.
Additionally, TTF is collecting product donations through its Toy Bank signature program. Items will be delivered to neighboring areas of safety, including Poland, Moldova, and Lithuania. Requested items include:
-
toys;
- clothing: jackets, shirts, pants, socks, etc.;
