The Toy Association™ to Host Safety & Compliance Update at Toy Fair®
CPSC Chair to Deliver Keynote Address During Annual Event
September 12, 2023 | All registered Toy Fair attendees are invited to attend The Toy Association’s “Legislation, Safety, & Compliance Update” during Toy Fair®. The safety seminar will take place Monday, October 2 from 9:00 a.m. to noon in Hall 1E at the Javits Center in New York City.
This year’s seminar will include a keynote address from U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Chair Alexander Hoehn-Saric, who will brief the audience on key priorities for the federal agency under his leadership. The chair’s remarks will be preceded by presentations from Toy Association leadership and outside experts, who will share the toy industry’s top state, federal, and international legislative and regulatory priorities, including an update on the status of the anticipated revisions to the ASTM F963 toy safety standard.
“Our ‘Legislation, Safety, & Compliance Update’ is an invaluable opportunity for Toy Fair attendees to gain critical insights into the complex and ever-evolving landscape of toy safety and regulatory compliance,” said Ed Desmond, executive vice president of global government & regulatory affairs at The Toy Association. “By addressing a spectrum of priority issues, the seminar equips our industry with the knowledge and tools needed to successfully navigate uncharted territory.”
Additional topics to be covered include chemical regulation and extended producer responsibility (EPR) requirements at the state level; the latest developments in children’s online privacy and safety; and updates on various international issues, including China trade matters, supply chain issues, and more.
All members of the Association’s advocacy committees and their company colleagues who are registered to attend Toy Fair are encouraged to attend this free seminar.
The seminar is sponsored by SGS North America, Bureau Veritas, Intertek, TUV Rheinland, and Unitec Laboratory Services. Toy Fair will take place September 30 to October 3 in New York City. Attendee registration is now open. Visit ToyFairNY.com to learn more.
