Support Children in Need with the Power of Play this Giving Tuesday

December 3, 2024 | This Giving Tuesday, the industry has an opportunity to take collective action to deliver the power of play to children within their communities and during hospital stays when they need it most. The Toy Foundation™ (TTF) believes every child should have access to play and is the industry’s partner for the benefit of all children in need.

“Millions of children lack access to play for reasons out of their control. By uniting through The Toy Foundation, we can change that,” said Pam Mastrota, executive director of The Toy Foundation.

With the industry’s full participation, the industry can meet – and surpass – TTF’s end-of-year fundraising goals:

Donate $25 to help raise $25,000 to fund a children’s hospital play project and help children heal and return home faster.

Donate product to help TTF deliver an additional 25,000 toys to local non-profits and comfort children, families, and entire communities in need.

The TTF Board of Trustees and staff are grateful for its corporate and foundation partners – Bandai Namco, Beacon Media Group, Jazwares, Mattel, and VTech Electronics – and individual donors whose support provides immense joy and comfort through play to children every day.

Jordan is a 7-year-old boy who had a heart transplant as an infant. He is admitted to Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in Bronx, NY multiple times per year for routine procedures and anytime he is sick, including a common cold. Thanks to funding the hospital has received from TTF, Jordan is able to find comfort from toys and other play tools available that help him process his emotions, continue to learn and grow, and most importantly, just be a kid.

Despite the many challenges her family has faced, Promise is a joyful young girl living in Los Angeles. For her recent birthday, throwing a party or providing a gift was not something her family could afford. A local nonprofit and TTF partner, Metro Kidz, stepped in to bring the neighborhood together and celebrate her special day, complete with new toys received through The Toy Bank.
