Yesterday, The Toy Association™ and its charitable arm, The Toy Foundation™, helped spread holiday cheer in the nation’s capital with a donation of toys to the annual Marine Toys for Tots Holiday Drive held at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia.

The initiative supported a special toy distribution for the children of deployed U.S. service members and military families. First Lady Melania Trump joined Marines and volunteers in collecting and distributing toys to brighten the holidays for children in need in Virginia; Washington, D.C.; and the surrounding areas.

In addition to yesterday’s donation, The Toy Association provided toys for the First Lady’s annual holiday visit to Children’s National Hospital on December 5. Toys and games were distributed to pediatric patients spending the holiday season in medical care, offering moments of joy, caring, and play for these children in need.

“Our industry understands the extraordinary power of play for children in need, especially during the holidays,” said Kathrin Belliveau, chief policy officer at The Toy Association. “From military children whose parents are serving abroad this holiday season to children who are hospitalized this time of year, every child deserves the joy, excitement, and comfort that a new toy can bring.”

The donations reinforce the toy industry’s shared mission to advance the value of play and support children in vulnerable circumstances. Thanks to the industry’s generosity, The Toy Foundation has comforted more than 36 million children with the power of play since 2003 through year-round toy donations, children’s hospital grants, and emergency relief efforts.
